-
Reading it on the web in your browser.
-
Downloading a PDF copy of the guide. You can do this by selecting "Download PDF" as shown by the red rectangle in the first photo. Click on the Options heading in the upper right corner of the screen (see the green rectangle).
-
In the "Dozuki" application, which is available for download from the Apple App Store and various Android and Google marketplaces.
-
If you view this guide in the Dozuki app, search for "Brickstuff" the first time you open the app, then select "Product Guides" from the categories listed under Brickstuff. Scroll down to find this guide.

These instructions assume you have already completed building your LEGO set.
-
As shown in the second photo for this step, begin installation of your Brickstuff light kit by removing the top small flame assembly from your LEGO candle.
-
-
-
As shown in the photos for this step, continue by removing the large red candle from its base, and then separate the two bottom half pieces as shown in the second photo.
-
As shown in the third photo, remove the large round plate from the bottom of the top half of the candle.
-
-
-
The first photo for this step shows the parts of your Brickstuff light kit in two small bags. You'll begin working with the bag on the left in the photo-- this contains the replacement LED flame and touch switch.
-
As shown in the second photo for this step, remove the LED flame assembly from its bag.
-
As shown in the third photo for this step, pass the plug for the LED flame assembly through the hole in the center of the top section of the candle.
-
-
-
As shown in the first photo for this step, continue passing the light wire down through the middle of the top candle section until its plug comes out the bottom.
-
As shown in the second photo for this step, attach the LED flame to the top of the red candle, in the center.
-
-
-
As shown in the first photo for this step, pass the plug for the LED flame through the hole in the center of the red round plate.
-
Finally, as shown in the second photo for this step, re-attach the large round red plate to the bottom of the top candle section.
-
Make sure the wire for your LED flame passes through the center of the candle bottom, as shown in the second photo.
-
-
-
Your kit contains a square circuit board, shown in the photo for this step. This is a touch-sensitive switch, and you can use it to turn the candle on and off by touching one of the green leaves at the candle base.
-
As shown by the green arrow in the photo, connect the wire from the LED flame to the socket on the touch switch labeled OUT.
-
Plugs can be inserted only one way. The second photo shows the top and bottom sides of the plug. To connect, press the plug into its socket with the top side facing up, and press into place using your fingernail. You will feel a slight "click" with your finger when the plug is fully inserted.
-
In order for your candle to work properly, you need to connect the flame to the OUT socket. You'll connect the other socket (labeled "IN") in the next step.
-
-
-
There will be a short black cable in the same bag as the touch switch. As shown by the orange arrow in the photo, connect one end of this cable to the plug labeled "IN" on the touch switch.
-
-
-
Remove the battery pack assembly from its bag, and connect the other end of the black cable to the socket on the battery labeled "POWER OUT", as shown by the yellow square in the photo.
-
-
-
As shown by the two colored rectangles in the first photo for this step, the battery pack has two switches.
-
The green rectangle shows the main on/off switch. When using your candle, make sure this switch is set to the ON position as shown in the photo.
-
The blue rectangle shows a small pushbutton switch. When the main power is ON, you can press this button to make sure the battery is still good. As shown in the second photo, when the main power is ON and you press the button, the green LED light next to the button will turn on. To save power, this light only turns on when you press the button.
-
If you plan to store your candle for extended periods of time, you can turn the main power switch to the OFF position. This will ensure the candle does not accidentally turn on via the touch switch.
-
If main power is ON and the green LED light does not turn on when you press the button, you may need to replace your battery. The type of battery is "CR123A" or "123A"-- you should be able to find replacements online or at your local electronics supply store.
-
In our tests, the battery operated the candle flame for more than a week of continuous use.
-
-
-
Before re-assembling your candle, test the touch switch and flame by turning the battery pack switch ON, then touching the large gold square on the back side of the touch switch as shown by the purple arrow in the first photo.
-
As shown in the second photo, your candle flame should turn on and begin flickering.
-
If your flame does not turn on, check to make sure the wires are connected correctly to the IN and OUT plugs on the touch switch as shown in earlier steps, and also that the plugs are fully inserted and the battery pack power is ON.
-
When re-assembling your candle in the following steps, your flame will turn on and off many times as you touch the switch during re-assembly and mounting. This is ok.
-
When the touch switch is OFF, almost no power is consumed from the battery.
-
-
-
As shown in the first photo for this step, begin re-assembling the candle by re-attaching one half of the bottom section.
-
As shown in the second photo for this step, place the battery pack into the open bottom section.
-
As shown in the third photo for this step, carefully re-attach the second half section.
-
Make sure both the LED flame wire and battery wire extend out the center of the candle opening, and that no wires are pinched by either candle half piece.
-
-
-
As shown in the photos for this step, re-attach the candle to its base with the two wires facing toward the front (the side of the centerpiece with the red bow).
-
As shown by the blue rectangle in the second photo, the wires should pass through the gaps in the bottom of the candle and not get pinched by the studs on the base when re-attaching.
-
-
-
The back side of the touch switch (the side with the large gold square) is covered with double-sided tape, which will appear red. Carefully peel off this red layer to reveal the adhesive you will use to attach the touch switch.
-
-
-
As shown in the first photo for this step, pull back the two wires running to the touch switch so they are approximately the same length. You can tuck any excess wire into the foliage of your candle base to hide it.
-
As shown by the red arrow in the second photo for this step, press the sticky side of the touch switch to the underside of one of the large green plant leaves at the candle base.
-
The touch switch is sensitive enough to be activated by touching through the thickness of the plastic leaf.
-
If you find your touch switch is not activating when you touch the top of the leaf where it is attached, you can remove the switch and peel back a small amount of the clear adhesive, then re-attach and try again.
-
You can also activate the touch switch by "pinching" the leaf with two fingers (one on the top and one on the bottom of the leaf). This is more likely to trigger the switch.
-
The blue circle in the third photo for this step shows the touch switch mounted to the underside of the green leaf. This is what you should touch/pinch to turn the candle on or off.
-
-
-
The video for this step shows the candle in action, using the touch switch to turn it on and off.
-
Congratulations on installing your Brickstuff Candle Flame QuicKit! We hope your candle provides years of enjoyment. Thank you for supporting our small business-- it means the world to us!
